Description
Due to a period of significant growth, we are current assisting our client, a global leader in the energy transition market to source an Installations Engineer to join their team based in West Sussex on a full time permanent basis.
The Role
The role will perform installations on customer sites to ensure the ongoing success of our client’s projects. The scale of our client’s projects is rapidly increasing and the Installations Support will be working alongside the Engineering, Projects & Commercial teams ensuring the success of these installations to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the Installations Manager on the following:
Installation design, specification & review – supporting system designers and installers in the installation & component specification/selection elements of system design.
Delivery planning of installations, interfacing with installers re delivery of product and components,
Installer training and practical installation support
Control systems specification, wiring requirements and setup
Commissioning support for systems
System trouble shooting & problem solving
Review and inspection of installations
Warranty management and support
Development of installation manuals and training documentation/materials
Key Requirements
Personal Specification
Experience in large domestic/commercial heating & hot water systems design and site installation/maintenance experience
Knowledge of CIBSE Heating design guide and CIBSE solar heating design & Installation guide.
Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, recognising components and determining system operation
Understands concepts of flow, heat transfer and heat loss, pressure, pumping/circulation.
Understands concepts of temperature, pressure, flow measurement and sensors used.
Understanding of control systems, components, wiring and configuration
Knowledge of solar thermal and solar PV systems from a design and practical experience perspective, Heat pump knowledge a bonus.
Knowledge of UK H&S legislation in relation to construction sites
Familiarity with construction site method statements, risk assessments and construction phase plans.
Willing to actively engage with people in a variety of work situations
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Technical qualification in any science or engineering discipline
C&G Advanced Craft certificate/NVQ3/SVQ3 apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical/building engineering services/heating hot water systems or equivalent
Work in a relevant business sector, such as solar, HVAC, building services or energy consultancy
Experience in a customer-facing role
Hands-on on-site experience
Some knowledge of electronics, plumbing and building systems
Desirable
C&G/BPEC/LCL (Logic Certification)/EAL L3 qualifications or equivalent in Solar Thermal, Solar PV, Heat Pumps, Low temperature heating design, electrical installation Experience of working within an entrepreneurial environment
Understanding of regulations and subsidies relevant to solar energy in the UK and elsewhere.
