The Role
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure that assigned projects or engineering packages are effectively planned and delivered in accordance with contractual commitments and client expectations, fostering a collaborative and positive relationships.
The Project Manager oversees the execution of these initiatives - either as standalone projects or components of a larger program - while maintaining strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards. They are accountable for delivering outcomes on time, within scope, and on budget, serving as the central liaison between clients, internal teams, and contractors to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the execution and control of projects or work packages to ensure alignment with customer requirements and to minimize business risks.
Ensure strict adherence to nuclear safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Take ownership of project management processes for assigned initiatives.
Develop, update, and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, risk registers, and budgets.
Lead hazard identification and risk assessment activities related to project tasks.
Manage contracts and procurement activities in accordance with company procedures to achieve project goals.
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and all stakeholders, including third-party vendors.
Coordinate cross-functional teams - including engineering, QSHE, commercial, project controls, and operations - to support successful project execution.
Track project performance, provide regular status updates, and implement corrective measures when needed.
Assess future workload to inform and support resource planning across projects.
Facilitate lessons learned sessions and apply continuous improvement practices to enhance project efficiency.
Apply governance, quality assurance, and change management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Champion a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across all project activities.
Key Requirements
In-depth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven leadership capabilities with a talent for motivating and managing cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives efficiently and effectively.
Solid experience in project planning, budgeting, and risk management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling sound decision-making based on data and project needs.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
Keen attention to detail, especially when reviewing technical documents, financial data, and project specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced in using project management software such as MS Project or Primavera for scheduling and reporting.
Qualifications:
Degree in related discipline.
APM PMQ or equivalent
Member of a recognised project professional body (e.g., APM, PMI).
IOSH or NEBOSH Managing Safely (highly desirable).
Knowledge of ISO standards.
