Finance Manager – Real Estate Lending – Mayfair – staff role

Our client, based in Mayfair, is a successful multi-family office that specialises in real estate investment and advisory work. They carry out a number of strategies, including real estate bridge and development financing, direct real estate investment and development. They are looking for a Finance Manager to join their team and oversee the lending division of the business.

The ideal candidate will have started their career within a professional services firm prior to moving in-house to work in a financial services / real estate environment. Specific experience in a bridge lending or development finance business would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

Role responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for all lending entities (currently 25+)
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Financial consolidation of the lending business
  • Board reporting, including commentary and variance analysis
  • Quarterly investor reporting
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Day to day transactional postings (Xero system)
  • Managing AP in respect of the lending business, including managing payment runs
  • Managing loan drawdown payment approvals and actioning requests
  • Monitoring performance of loan book, including interest receipts and redemption dates
  • Preparation of forecasts
  • Working alongside external advisors to ensure tax returns and statutory accounts are filed on time
  • Process and control improvements, including designing, implementing and documenting key financial controls
  • Preparation of other ad-hoc reports and tasks for the lending team, such as assisting with fund raising initiatives

Qualifications / Experience required:

  • ACA, CA or ACCA qualified
  • Experience of financial consolidation of multiple entities
  • Financial services / banking sector / real estate sector experience is an advantage
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in improving processes is desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and work autonomously
