Contract Manager


Our client, a leading producer of seamless steel tubes and hollow sections for the industrial market is looking to recruit a Contract Manager for their office in Tananger, Norway. This role will report directly to the Country Manager.

The Role:

To manage and control all aspects of nominated customer contracts and orders to the highest standard from an administrative, operational, and commercial perspective, always ensuring close liaison with customers effectively and proactively. To perform all work, in line with defined procedures, quality, environmental and health and safety standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achievement of agreed contract (customer) management and personal objectives.
  • Act as the focal point for allocated contracts and hold overall responsibility for those contracts, actively managing the delivery and quality of the companies response to each customer’s pipe and service needs.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the customer contracts and all associated pipe and service orders to ensure fulfilment of all contractual obligations.
  • Arrange and conduct regular discussions and meetings with key customer personnel in order to ensure a high standard of planning is performed to give timely ordering, manufacturing and delivery of OCTG products and associated services.
  • Provide timely and high-quality responses to all customer requests for quotations and information.
  • Present customer needs internally in a timely manner to Supply Chain UK, logistics and inspection departments.
  • Deliver reports and KPI statistics for internal use and to demonstrate measurement of performance to customers as scheduled.
  • Accurately enter and manage customer orders within the Company’s business systems (System21 and Wels).
  • Provide Contract Management Support with information required to ensure invoicing to Customers can be managed in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance and back up to the other Contract Managers to ensure that high levels of service standards are maintained.
  • Participate in the Companies Norwaye on-call rota as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Policies & Procedures, all applicable statutory regulations, and relevant industry standards or directives.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent contract management / operational experience.
  • A high level of product awareness and a good understanding of well construction and drilling terminology is desirable.
  • Have a proven ability to understand and prioritise the needs of the business and to effectively manage or delegate multiple tasks and responsibilities to others, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to changing business needs and be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organisation.
  • Possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. This role requires an ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, and externally.
  • Be independent, objective, and open when working with customers, external agencies, and sub-contractors.
  • Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently to the standards expected by the Company.
  • Be computer literate, and able to use e-mail, Excel, Word, and Power-point to produce management, operational, and financial reports, forecasts & presentations.
  • Able to quickly develop a sound understanding of current VOGUK procedures, policies, and standards for QHSE and apply those management systems in the context of operating in Norway.
  • Current and valid driving license is necessary.
  • Preferably bi-lingual (Norwegian and English).
  • Possess the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks to meet targets.
