Commercial Advisor

Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Advisor to join a market leading player in the inspection, repair and maintenance of assets and critical infrastructure. This role will be offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Commercial Advisor will support the Commercial team, preparing and co-ordinating tenders and proposals within client deadlines supported by the business units.

The main tasks include

  • To create and manage commercial / technical proposals in SAP;
  • To ensure that the Proposals and Tender Process is adhered to at all times;
  • In conjunction with the engineering team, prepare technical and commercial proposals;
  • Actively lead the co-ordination of the tenders process from receipt to submission with support from BU Leads, including undertaking all Client portal submissions as required;
  • Host tender kick off meetings, create an action log and ensure response timelines are actively managed and adhered to;
  • Support with compilation cost estimates;
  • To liaise with clients / organise and attend meetings during the proposal and tender process;
  • To ensure that tenders and proposals are checked and approved in a timely fashion / from both a technical and commercial perspective;
  • Support with internal governance relating to delegation of authority compliance;
  • On receipt of client purchase orders, complete Sales orders in SAP system;
  • Accountable for the completion and response issuance for any business pre-qualification process;
  • Actively manage and track updates in various client based online vendor management systems (Avetta, Ariba, Sequal, FPAL, Achilles UVDB, ISN etc);
  • Team working, helping each other, and standing in for each other, as required and planned;
  • Provide guidance and support development of junior members of the Commercial team;
  • Undertaking any other activities and support as determined by line manager.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of preparing and drafting commercial / technical proposals;
  • Experience of co-ordinating and preparing tender responses mandatory;
  • Experience in co-ordinating, completing and submitting prequalification responses essential;
  • Experience in reviewing Contract terms and conditions advantageous;
  • Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft packages;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Ability to effectively work within a small close-knit team;
  • Ability to manage multiple work scopes on a day-to-day basis;
  • Ability to take on wide ranging tasks;
  • Ability to prioritise workloads.
